Look all these lawnmowers!
We may be on Spring Break, but our Watertown High School SkillsUSA and Supermileage team students have been busy with the annual Lawnmower Tune-Up. This special event serves as an important fundraiser for WHS Technical Education programming.
This year our students, under the guidance of staff and parent advisors, are completing tune-ups on more than 200 lawnmowers. Each year the number of mowers serviced continues to grow - thank you, Watertown!
The $50 tune-up includes an oil change, blade sharpening, and new plug and filter. The mowers are also filled with new gas and power washed clean.
We are super proud of these students! Watch for next year's Lawnmower Tune-Up to be advertised in early March.

To create the best testing environment for the freshman & sophomores students taking the PreACT test, juniors and seniors will not have school on March 25.

Brandon shared his journey from taking Project Lead the Way classes at WHS to researching and prototyping devices in college. He walked students through the engineering process used to develop medical technology and talked about the trial and error that comes with research, emphasizing the importance of persistence and collaboration.
After graduating from the UW-Milwaukee in December with bachelor’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering, Brandon began a master’s program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in January. His current research focuses on hand rehabilitation, with a long-term goal of integrating AI into prosthetic technology.
Brandon credits Mrs. Carpenter’s PLTW courses, along with Mr. Domer’s Tech Ed classes and SkillsUSA, for helping him discover his passion and build the skills that led him to biomedical engineering.
By sharing his experiences, Brandon showed WHS students how the skills they are learning now can lead to real-world innovation and meaningful careers in biomedical engineering.
Pictured are Brandon and Mrs. Carpenter along with a collage of prosthetic hand prototypes Brandon designed as part of his university research.
