The #WatertownWay REACH 18-21 Transition program participants would like to thank our Director of Human Services Margaret Brady for being a guest speaker in their program the other week. Ms. Brady provided these young adults with great information on the job search process, gave them tips on how to interview, and discussed what employers look for in good employees.

Spending a day at the beach sure sounds like a great idea right about now! Students in Mrs. Schwager's #WatertownWay first grade classroom decided to brighten up these winter days with an indoor beach day celebration. 🏖️
We can think of 100 reasons why we love Schurz School! At the top of the list is Reading Buddies! Our #WatertownWay 4th and 5th multiage students partnered with their 4K dual language buddies to celebrate the 100th day of school.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, February 22nd, we are anticipating freezing rain, ice, sleet and snow throughout the early morning hours and throughout the day. During the times of expected travel for our students, staff, families, and our WUSD bus transportation, the National Weather Service is predicting unsafe driving conditions. As a result, we will be closing school on Tuesday, February 22nd. All evening activities for Tuesday, February 22nd will also be canceled.

Introducing Miss Getlin’s Best Book Award Winners!
These #WatertownWay LEAP Leopards just wrapped up their opinion writing unit. Their final piece was to write about the best book ever and convince our judge (Mrs. Parys) that it really is the best book ever. It was a TOUGH choice because all students wrote very convincing pieces with strong reasoning.
Our runners up were Asher and Marcel and our first place winner was Teagan. Their final pieces are hanging up proudly in the hallway for all to see.
Our amazing #WatertownWay Webster Elementary Principal Brad Clark guided these little ones down the hall at the end of their day. It's captured moments like these that remind us how lucky we are to have incredible leaders like Mr. Clark in the WUSD!

Who's up for a game of Kin-Ball? These #WatertownWay RMS Panthers are! The object of Kin-Ball is simple: to score more points than the two other opponents and win the game. Players do this by working as a team against the two other teams. A great deal of teamwork is involved in Kin-Ball, and our RMS Panthers worked together and had a blast!
Last week, LEAP Elementary students had a visit from author, Stef Wade, who came to read and discuss her books Q & U Call It Quits and A Place for Pluto. Afterwards, the students were able to ask her questions about being an author, were given the opportunity to give suggestions for possible future book ideas and had the opportunity to purchase any of Stef Wade's books and have them signed by her.
Douglas Elementary students joined students across the country in the Great Kindness Challenge! The culminating activity for this year's kindness week was capturing a picture of the students and staff along with their giant paper chain of kindness. Neighbors could hear students excitedly proclaiming "Douglas Tigers are Kind!" Kindness is the #WatertownWay!
