History Takes Flight

The WUSD Art Department, in partnership with the Watertown Arts Council, is sponsoring an art installation where students and community members are invited to paint and decorate life-size geese for display around Watertown. To kick-off the initiative, our Communication Specialist Melissa Lampe presented a talk on why Watertown High School's mascot is the Gosling with other interesting facts about Watertown history.

Lampe gave this talk in person at WHS on Friday, Oct. 18 and again at the Watertown Public Library on Monday, Oct. 21. The talk was video-recorded to share with all art class students in the district. The decorated geese will be formally unveiled at a reception at WHS on Tuesday, Nov. 19 from 5-7 p.m. The public is invited to attend this special event. For more information, contact Dave Pawl, WHS art teacher, at pawld@mywusd.org.
