The Watertown Unified School District hosted a special event Tuesday at Watertown High School to welcome staff members back after summer break and to celebrate the start of the 2024-25 school year. During the event, which featured welcoming remarks by Watertown Public Library Director Peg Checkai and School Board Vice-President David Schroeder, as well as Human Resources Director Margaret Brady and Supt. Dr. Jarred Burke, employees were recognized for their years of service to the WUSD.
The number of staff members who are celebrating milestone anniversaries with the WUSD include 63 employees having completed one year of service; 23 employees completing five years of service; 19 employees completing 10 years of service; six employees completing 15 years of service; and 10 employees completing 20 years of service. In addition, special recognition was paid to the following staff members for completing 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service:
*25 years of service: Lisa Clark, Terri Danner, Amy Marchant, Scot Meyer, Cinnamon Gifford, Michelle Webster, Chris Weddig, and Cynthia Weisbecker
*30 years of service: Brad Clark, Peggy Hackney, Diane McCormack, Paul Minning, and Deborah Pfeifer
*35 years of service: Sue Roth
*40 years of service: Gloria McDonald
