Our #WatertownWay WHS Art Students were busy at work earlier this month making a 13X3 foot mosaic mural! The Class of 2020's graduation gift was to fund a mural for the front foyer of WHS. Art Educator Jana Strobel spearheaded this initiative, drew the design for the mural and contracted with Mosaic and Stained Glass Artist Denny Berkery to make this mural happen. Over 150 students participated in the making of the mosaic mural!
A Ribbon Cutting event to view the mural will be on November 29th, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. during the WHS Art Show. We welcome the entire community to come and see this amazing piece of art! In addition, the WUSD Student Art Showcase event will take place on Nov 29th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and is free to everyone. There will be art making stations, face painting, and photo opportunities! Kindergarten through 12th grade art from across the WUSD will also be on view.
Mrs. Peters’ #WatertownWay 4K Webster Wildcats participated in a Taste of Thanksgiving together yesterday! In honor of World Kindness Day, LEAP Elementary Student Council recognized the every day kindnesses of one of our own - Mrs. McCormack! Mrs. McCormack goes above and beyond each day making the lunchroom a fun place to be. She decorates the gym/lunchroom for the seasons and holidays - always having a craft for each class to create. At LEAP, the lunchroom is a place for learning too! Mrs. McCormack educates our students on the importance of recycling and makes sure they know the what is garbage and what is recyclable. So many of her kindnesses are completed without anyone knowing what she does. She is generous with her time and talents and we are so thankful she shares them with our staff and school! Thanks, Mrs. McCormack - we hit the jackpot with you!
Schurz Elementary celebrates birthdays by growing students' love for learning and reading! Happy Birthday to all our #WatertownWay November birthday friends! 🎂

To "cap" off Bullying Prevention Month, staff and students flipped their focus - watching for Upstander actions! When a kind or helpful action was noticed, students and staff wrote a shout-out with a challenge to reach their 500 Shout-Out goal! Within 7 school days, our #WatertownWay Douglas Tigers exceeded their goal and celebrated with hat day! Check out these UPSTANDERS making their school community great!
Honoring our veterans - today and always.
Each Wednesday, #WatertownWay Speech Language Pathologist Mrs. Tammy Welter helps Mrs. Peters’ 4K Webster Wildcat students make a special snack! A couple of weeks ago, they scooped, dumped, and poured to make some spooky ‘Boo’ Oreo shakes. A special thank you to Mullen’s Dairy for the ice cream we used to make our spooky shakes!
