Distinguished and dedicated WUSD School Board Member Jennifer Bakke submitted her resignation from the Board of Education, effective April 15, 2022. Please help us all thank Jennifer for her 8 years of loyal service to the students, staff, families and WUSD community!
This vacancy will be filled in accordance with Board Policy #8132. The term for this seat will expire in April of 2023. Lincoln STEM wants to show their true appreciation to educator and author Mary Tellefson and their amazing PTO by giving them another shout out! Lincoln STEM 4/5 students participated in a variety of simulations using technology to learn and build empathy for people with blindness. They learned how to properly guide a blind person, use a braille machine, decode the braille alphabet, and how to use their other four senses to learn about the world. A huge thank you to the Lincoln STEM PTO for funding a big autographed book give away! 📖

Grade 2/3 students at Lincoln STEM Elementary got in on the March Madness fun with their annual Math Fact Shoot-Out! The top students in each classroom went head-to-head against each other in the championship while their classmates cheered them on! The winners in each grade level won a basketball signed by their classmates! How fun! #WatertownWay

Our Webster Wildcats sure had a #WatertownWay day of fun during physical education class last week! The amazing Ms. Alwin set up various stations throughout the gymnasium so students could participate in all kinds of activities! It's a favorite gym day for our young movers and shakers!
We were so fortunate to have author Mary Tellefson visit Lincoln STEM last week! She is a teacher and author who works with blind/visually-impaired children. She came to do a presentation and simulation workshop. Students wore blindfolds to see what it what it would be like to have a vision impairment, and also took turns being guides. Thank you, Ms. Tellefson!
