Strategic Plan

Dear WUSD Families, Staff, Students and Community Members,

We are incredibly excited about the future of the Watertown Unified School District, now guided by the direction and vision set forth in our recently-approved 2024-27 Strategic Plan. This plan reflects our commitment to informing and educating all of youā€”students, staff, and community membersā€”about the priorities and values that will shape our future together.

At the heart of this plan are five priority areas:

Inspired Academic Excellence & Student Growth: We are committed to empowering our students to become leaders and innovators. By developing students' ability to initiate and direct their own learning and build the skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly changing world, we ensure that our tradition of excellence continues to transform the lives of all learners.

All In Team: Our focus is on recruiting, developing, supporting, and retaining the best team members. We believe that by investing in our staff, encouraging innovation, affirming exemplary professional practices, and celebrating successes, we will foster a culture of excellence and collaboration that benefits all.

Connecting as Community: We strive to create an environment where everyoneā€”students, parents, staff, and community membersā€”feel a strong sense of belonging. By building meaningful connections, we honor the traditions of our community while driving transformation in how we engage and learn together.

Intentional Resource Allocation: Our goal is to ensure student growth through responsible fiscal management. We are committed to being stewards of the publicā€™s investment, maximizing resources to enhance learning while maintaining the trust of our community.

Innovative Facilities & Use: We are reimagining our learning spaces to inspire creativity and meet todayā€™s educational standards. By investing in modern, flexible, and innovative environments, we are transforming how students learn and grow.

Each of these priority areas involves you. Whether through the academic success of our students, the commitment of our staff, the engagement of our parents and families, or the partnership of our community, every one of us plays a critical role in moving forward together.

As we move forward together, we encourage everyone to stay informed by regularly visiting the WUSD website, where you will find updated information regarding our Strategic Plan: https://www.watertown.k12.wi.us/page/district

Thank you for your continued support as we uphold the traditions that make us who we are, while embracing the innovation that drives our transformation into the future.

In Community and Education,

Jarred Burke
