🌟 Watertown High School coaches have once again been recognized as leaders, both in the state and throughout the country! The National Federation of State High School Associations recently announced that Watertown High School has earned Level 3 status within the NFHS School Honor Roll Program for the 2023-24 school year.

Watertown is the second school in the state of Wisconsin and the 30th school in the country to have earned this elite status! This national distinction honors the dedication and commitment that WHS and its coaches have to its students and to education-based programs. The coaches at WHS have been equipped with research-based, student-centered curriculum to assist them in their journey as interscholastic coaches.

WHS Administrative Assistant Kelley Piasecki works closely with our coaches behind the scenes on course completion, requirements for certification levels, and record keeping for the NFHS professional development program for the athletic department.

Watertown has joined a national community of schools that value professional development for their coaches along with learning experiences for student athletes. “The coaching staff at Watertown High School continues to display an unmatched, high level of professionalism, commitment, and self-reflection," said Dr. Jamie Koepp, athletic director and assistant principal at Watertown High School. “We are extremely proud of their dedication and willingness to better themselves through professional development."

"Education-based athletics in Watertown is something our school and community takes great pride in," Koepp said. "NFHS offers a platform for coaches to improve in their craft through meaningful courses and we appreciate the opportunity to take part in it. I continue to feel fortunate with the high level of support we receive from Principal Josh Kerr, Superintendent Dr. Jarred Burke, and the Board of Education."

"We are excited and proud to be recognized as the 2nd school in Wisconsin to have earned Level 3 status within the NFHS School Honor Roll Program,” Koepp added. "This is an achievement that WUSD and the community will celebrate together. All three NFHS banners are now visible in the gymnasium, on the east wall beneath the scoreboard."
