Endeavor Students

The Watertown Unified School District is proud to offer unique learning opportunities for students of all ages and abilities. At the high school level, students seeking a non-traditional learning pathway – where they can focus more on rigorous self-paced and project-based learning – often find their ideal academic home within the Endeavor Charter School.

Now in its 11th year, the Endeavor Charter School continues to thrive. Endeavor is located within Watertown High School, 825 Endeavour Dr. With enrollment capped at 54 students annually, teenagers in this hands-on, high-achieving, high-standards learning environment hone their resiliency, self-management, self-reflecting, goal-setting and planning skills.

Judy Mueller, Endeavor Charter School lead teacher, said while the learning model is different from a traditional school setting, students at Endeavor Charter School must meet the same state and national standards as students attending Watertown High School. “The difference is in how we get there,” Mueller said. “Students use Project Based Learning and personal agency to learn in an order that makes sense to them while incorporating their passions and interests.”

Mueller said a core value within the charter school is holistic learning. “We are always focused on our students becoming the best versions of themselves that they can be,” she said. “This includes helping them grow in the 21st Century skills they will need to be successful adults.”

The public is invited to learn more about the Endeavor Charter School by attending Community Outreach Day on Friday, November 8. Mueller said any community member interested in attending should contact her to be partnered with a student for a tour and introduction to the school. Mueller can be reached at muellerj@mywusd.org or by calling (920) 262-7500 ext. 6880. Reservations should be made before Wednesday, Nov. 6.
