Ireland

🍀The Watertown High School Marching Band will be traveling to Dublin, Ireland in 2026 to march in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade! While there, the band will also be competing in the Limerick Band Championship, Ireland’s only international band competition. Students will also explore Galway, the Wicklow Mountains, and the Cliffs of Moher, as well as spend time learning about Irish culture through music, food, and dance.

This 8-day adventure is open to all current 7th-10th grade band members in the WUSD. To help offset the cost of travel expenses, the band, with the help of Custom Fundraising Solutions, will be holding a Mattress Sale Fundraiser at Watertown High School on August 10 beginning at 10 a.m. Mattresses sold at the event will be manufactured locally. Mattresses will be made to order and are sold with full warranties at wholesale prices. For more information, please contact WHS Band Director Reid LaDew at ladewr@watertown.k12.wi.us.

There is a long and rich history of student travel in the Watertown Music Department, dating back more than 40 years. Most recently the band, choir, and orchestra have performed in Colorado, Nashville, Washington D.C., and as a part of the Thanksgiving Day Parade at Disney World. On June 11, 100 band and orchestra students will be travelling to New York City to perform on the flight deck of the USS Intrepid and participate in a Broadway Workshop with Ian Weinberger, the Music Director from Hamilton.
